Norfolk’s Environmentally Friendly Solicitors
As an office based business, we are conscious of our impact on the environment. That’s why as environmentally friendly solicitors, we have strategies in place to reduce or offset our carbon footprint.
We plant trees!
For every new file that we open, we plant a tree. By instructing us, you are helping to make a greener world and better life for all. We are committed to sustainability.
It is now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. Trees are one of the best tools we have in removing carbon pollution from our atmosphere. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.
We use Ecologi to plant our trees each month. Ecologi’s tree planting partner, The Eden Reforestation Projects, plant millions of trees around the world each month.
If you would like to grow your own forest, use our link and Ecologi will plant 30 extra trees for free.

We run a paper-light business.
In our industry, we cannot completely ditch the paper files. However, where possible, we do not print, and we communicate with our clients and other businesses using email. This greatly reduces the amount of paper that we use.
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
We hate waste.
We have recycling bins at our offices so that we can recycle at work, as well as at home.
Our headed paper is printed on recycled paper and our Wills are printed on paper made from recycled coffee cups! We use 100% recycled toilet paper, kitchen roll and tissues, helping to reduce deforestation.
We have switched to refillable cleaning products. By refilling our existing bottles, we cut the plastic waste by 95%!
We have also signed up to Plastic Free Communities “Plastic Free Business Award”. By doing this, we have joined a network of thousands of businesses and almost 1000 communities across the UK all working towards the same goal—to kick our addiction to single use plastic.
Having achieved our Plastic Free Champion award, our goal is to work towards making more swaps to sustainable supplies to achieve the silver and gold awards.

Climate Risk in Property Transactions
Climate change is the most significant external impact that our communities and businesses face. It will affect property and infrastructure assets, investment portfolios, lending and insurance markets. The scale of change and the potential risks are eye-watering and have major implications for property transactions.
The environmental search that we carry out in property transactions contains Climate Index, which provides a climate score for the property, and projects changes in physical and transition risks from flooding, natural ground instability and coastal erosion. Climate change could have a significant medium to longer term impact on a property, which may be increasingly considered by a lender when arranging a mortgage.
Climate Index provides ratings that indicate potential physical risks (loss and damage to property) and how these give rise to transition risks such as having a material impact on the ability to insure or mortgage a property in the medium to long term. In turn, this could affect the future resale value of a property.
Climate Index includes the following physical risks – subsidence, coastal erosion, river flooding, surface flooding and coastal (tidal) flooding.
Climate Index does not include the following physical risks – groundwater flooding, heat stress and risk to drinking water supplies including private wells.
The scope of our advice on climate change is limited to the information and advice contained in the environmental search result.
