The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has seen evidence of scam texts informing the public that a "Covid Home Testing Team will visit their homes.

Criminals are experts at impersonating government departments and are using the NHS Test and Trace service to trick you into revealing your personal and financial information.

You may receive fake emails and texts utilising government branding to convince you they’re genuine. Make sure you check the web address carefully and do not click on any links as they could lead to fake websites used to obtain your information.

You can forward scam emails to report@phishing.gov.uk and report suspicious texts to your mobile provider by forwarding the message to 7726. If a scam text claims to be from your bank, you should also report it to them.
